About Me

When I first started repainting dolls my name was Wendy Vielhauer, but since then I married my husband Kevin and am now Wendy Southwood.  I'm 31 years old and I have three wonderful children.  My son Tristan and my stepson Kevin Jr. are both 10, and my daughter Sophia is 7.

I learned about repainting dolls in 2007 through my mom, Karen of Buttons & Butterflies.  She sews lovely ensembles for a variety of dolls, including Ellowyne Wilde, BJDs, Helen Kish, and American Girl.  You can visit her website here.  We used to combine our ideas for doll and outfit collaborations, but we haven't done that since I moved to a different state in 2010.

God has blessed me with artistic abilities, and I am thankful to have the opportunity to work at home doing something I enjoy to help provide for my family.  I've never been to college or art school, so everything I know about art has been self-taught.  Most of my techniques have been learned through experimentation, and I still try to think of new ways to improve my work.  All credit for anything I have accomplished belongs to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.  Thank you for visiting!
